Commissioning Manager - Substations

The Commissioning Manager will oversee and manage the commissioning process in alignment with the TP141 regulations across various Substations projects, ensuring the safe and efficient integration of the substation.
Following the ‘One Murphy’ approach, we’re able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on. Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE and Ørsted, on both transmission and distribution networks within the Energy sector.
What you will be doing:
Lead and execute the commissioning activities across the substation portfolio. Review customer scope to define and develop project HV commissioning strategy and programme. Review supplier proposal and programmes for substation plant installation and commissioning Represent Murphy at TP/SR106 and 163 meetings. Ensure compliance with TP141 regulations and safety standards throughout the commissioning process. Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures, outlining the necessary steps for successful integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and operations to ensure a smooth handover. Manage and supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges during commissioning. Oversee testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of substation equipment. Document all commissioning activities, results, and deviations, maintaining accurate records for future reference.Who we are looking for:
TP141 Authorised National Grid Competent Person Extensive experience in commissioning high-voltage substations up to and including 400kv. Knowledge of TP141 regulations and safety protocols. Track record of successful commissioning projects on time and within budget.About Murphy
