An opportunity has arisen to join the Partnerships and Engagement Team at the City of London Corporation. We are growing our team looking for a Planning Obligations Infrastructure Officer.

The post holder will work on highway, walkway and transportation issues pre and post-planning stage, in accordance with the Highways Act 1980, and under the direction of the Head of Planning Delivery, in order to contribute to an effective transition from planning to delivery of new developments on issues relating to the road network.

The post holder will be working closely with planning officers and the development industry and will be the single point of contact with developers at pre-application and application stage. The postholder will also manage the process for financial spend of section 278 contributions in order to achieve effective outcomes for the future operation of the City’s streets serving the City of London.

You will hold a degree (or equivalent) in a Construction/Engineering related subject or significant and demonstrable experience of working at this level and have membership or evidence of working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation or other relevant professional body.

You will have demonstrable experience in monitoring projects and spend of section 278 financial contributions for statutory annual monitoring as well as advising on the terms of S106 and S278 agreements ensuring contributions are spent in line with the legal requirements.

You will have experience of producing committee reports with recommendations on decisions relating to transport issues for planning applications, City Walkway issues, Adoptions and Stopping up Orders, oversailing licenses and attend and present at call over and committee as required.
