We are now looking for a

Mazak support Engineer

to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent, and the preferred location is in Havant. 

As Mazak support Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

1. Reporting of objectives, KPIs and milestones for the Mazak installation daily to the ME Team Leader.

2. Man Eng / Production / Maintenance liaison in defining and implementing PPM for Mazak machines.

Creation of task lists in SAP (common and unique) for review and approval by Maintenance / EHS Accurately identify care points for each PM schedule. Accurately identify the time required for each care point operation. Accurately identify consumable materials and part numbers to facilitate accurate material control for PM activities.

3. Work collaboratively with production in the handover of tooling responsibility to man Eng team.

Full audits of all Mazak tooling, then roll out to other machines. Identification and recording of all tooling back ends using new tool id numbering. Identification and recording of all tooling / inserts using new tool id numbering. Storage in tooling directory for use in Vericut. Implement tooling location system in line with current tool storage and SAP stock location to facilitate tooling addition to BOMs. Document all the above in Work Instructions and publish to BMS when fully reviewed / approved.

4. Support best practice machining – set up sheets, programming, machining methods.

5. Implementation of OEE for x3 Mazak machines.

6. Support offline programming process.

Documentation of tooling and identification of work holding to allow setup drawing creation to be accurate. Monitoring RFT  Contribute to ‘best method’ culture.

7. Work collaboratively with production in reactive programming process (lineside)

Clearly identify what is / is not able to fit on machine for manufacturing and provide clear evidence to support. Identify and implement programming issue resolution process – line side Ensure and maintain risk free process with RFT metric. Identify required equipment set up required for shop floor in line with current offline programming process.

8. Regular review with Man Eng team and Production of orderbook to forecast programming requirements. Support best machine allocation.

9. Responsible in conjunction with Production support leader to identify training requirements.

10. Ownership of training plan 

Including skills matrix Skill development records in line with BMS

11. Liaison to Production Supervisors on all processes and improvements 

12. Support continuous improvement processes ensuring ‘buy in’ from all stake holders.

13. Any other reasonable request by management, in line with role and position.

You will shine in this role, when you have: 

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications. Clear communicator who acts with integrity, honesty and sensitivity dealing with sensitive information. Excellent PC skills, with good understanding of Microsoft office – Word and Excel particularly. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to agreed timelines. Proven background in understanding manufacturing processes, ideally with exposure to CADCAM. Experience/knowledge of programming in ISO/EIA, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol Matrix. Continuous improvement knowledge. Understanding of the Marine industry is desired but not essential. Fluent in English, verbal and written. Must be eligible to undertake base line security clearance as a key requirement for this role.

In this role, some travel may be required to meet with our suppliers. Thus, we hope you to be ready to potential travel even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
