Mazak Support Engineer


Reporting to: Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader


About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mazak Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The primary objective of this role is to support Mazak installation and production processes. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Mazak machines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Reporting: Report objectives, KPIs, and milestones for Mazak installations to the Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader.
  • PPM Implementation: Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to define and implement Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for Mazak machines.
  • Task List Creation: Develop and review task lists in SAP for approval by Maintenance and EHS teams.
  • Care Points Identification: Precisely identify care points and required time for each PM schedule, ensuring accurate material control.
  • Tooling Management: Audit all Mazak tooling and extend to other machines, using new tool ID numbering for comprehensive records.
  • Documentation: Document all processes in Work Instructions and publish to the Business Management System (BMS) upon approval.
  • Best Practice Machining: Support optimal machining practices, including setup sheets, programming, and methods.
  • OEE Implementation: Implement Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for three Mazak machines.
  • Offline Programming: Support and document offline programming processes, ensuring accurate setup drawing creation.
  • Reactive Programming: Work collaboratively with production for on-the-spot programming adjustments, ensuring risk-free processes.
  • Orderbook Review: Regularly review orderbook with Engineering and Production teams to forecast and allocate programming requirements.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs, manage training plans, and maintain skills development records.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support and drive continuous improvement processes with full stakeholder engagement.

What We Expect from You:

  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Communication: Clear communicator with integrity and sensitivity when handling sensitive information.
  • IT Proficiency: Excellent PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Proven background in manufacturing processes with exposure to CADCAM.
  • Programming Experience: Experience with programming in ISO/EIA, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol Matrix.
  • Continuous Improvement: Knowledge of continuous improvement practices.
  • Industry Understanding: Knowledge of the Marine industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Security Clearance: Must be eligible for baseline security clearance.
