Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: This an exciting opportunity for caring, compassionate and talented Support Workers, to work within a well-established service, supporting 4 people, with learning disabilities and mental health. This service will be supporting people, promoting their choices, wellbeing and independence. This service is a large Victorian house with a small back yard with a greenhouse and raised planters. There is a communal lounge, kitchen and dining room too. The people supported here enjoy accessing their local community, experience new things and for their support staff to encourage this They all have a variety of interests ranging from shopping, football, gardening, cooking, watching films and playing games. The staff here need to be proactive, share similar interests and must also have patience and good communication skills The people supported here, love to have a good chat but staff need to be clear and direct in what they are asking or telling others to do. At this service there are usually 2 support workers on during the day (10am-10:30pm), as well as a staff member on a sleep shift too (10:30pm - 10am) The shifts during the day can sometime be flexible, depending on what's going on within the service. This is a full time role - 37.5 hours, over 3 or 4 days, including sleep in shifts too. Your values: We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience.
