The Network Delivery Manager role is a senior leadership role for the Network Delivery team. Working with the Head of Network Delivery and wider team, providing support, direction, and cross-functional collaboration to delivery key workstreams. Being a visible leader that supports stakeholders and functions to resolve performance challenges promptly.

The role will work collaboratively to deliver targeted solutions quickly that will enhance key performance areas in GWR and support train service delivery. Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the route and industry and providing a positive culture towards performance improvement planning (PIPs) and delivering the required strategy.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Representing the GWR performance team, responsible for network delivery and performance improvement. Engaging and working in collaboration with stakeholders to deliver good performance for our customers and meeting the required targets. Providing a focus on solving performance related challenges that requires a multi-stakeholder approach. Take ownership of projects, workstreams or actions that have slowed or stalled in momentum and turn the challenges in to resolution promptly. Identifying and resolving workstream duplication and removing process bottlenecks. Oversee and support targeted performance improvement plans (PIPs), delivering the required strategy and leading key workstreams or projects on behalf of the performance team. Solving complex problems, bringing multiple functions and subject matter experts together, to resolve issues promptly in a sprint style format. Provide outputs and information to wide ranging audiences, using data to translate often complex problems, that will engage with colleagues to deliver solutions. Working across multiple forums, workstreams and working proactively with multiple stakeholders to improve performance across a varied field of activity.

You'll need to be:

The ability to take the lead with complex problems through to solution. Lead projects or workstreams and create milestones through to completion. A proactive and visible member of the team, who is able to communicate or present across varied audiences. The ability to work with multiple stakeholders and bring key subject matter experts together to resolve issues promptly. A visible and proactive individual, that can work across multiple organisations. Committed to delivering high standards and achieve results quickly. Supporting performance reporting within the required timescales, and support governance that may include action planning and risk registers.

As a minimum, you will need to have:

Proven examples of working across multiple organisations and functions to resolve complex problems. The ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver performance improvement through many workstreams and formats. Committed to delivering high standards and achieve results quickly. The ability to deliver complex challenge within required timescales. A good understanding of railway operations (inc. Policies and Procedures)

About the location?

The role will focus on railway operations network wide. There is a need to be flexible and work across the network. Successful candidate can be based at anyone of our locations London, Reading, Swindon, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth or Penzance.

Working Pattern?

There will be occasions when early or late shifts will be required along with weekend working to visit locations, observe train service performance or support your region with special events.
