The opportunity

Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, the Data Governance Analyst will play a vital role in maximising the value of our data here at The Openwork Partnership. 
Supporting the embedding of all facets of the Data Governance Framework and ensuring that the Openwork Group has access to high quality and trusted information to assess performance, provide insight, and inform decisions, this is a key role with great potential. 

Key Accountabilities:
Play a key role in building out the data governance capability across the organisation Build data structures (reports and dashboards) that support stakeholders in improving their access to data. Support the embedding of the data governance framework, including policies, standards, and controls. Work with the business to produce data standards & data quality rules for business-critical data. Prepare packs for Data Governance Council, Operational Forums & other governance mechanisms. Chair the Operational Forums, ensuring they deliver meaningful value.  Assess and improve quality of data used within Openwork. Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage expectations.  Provide training to data owners, stewards, and custodians.  Build effective relationships across the Partnership. Support building the Openwork data community to ensure best practice across the Partnership. Help the business to become more data mature.

What will you need to succeed?

Understanding of data governance frameworks. Experience in data governance, data management or a similar role. Experience in data management principles, tools & technologies. Experience of using data quality measurement via technology, as part of a strong governance programme. Strong stakeholder management skills · Some understanding of SQL, ETL, and other data structuring concepts · Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power BI (or similar visualisation tool). Familiarity with data privacy regulation, such as GDPR.  Numerate and investigative – gets to the root of problems and does not accept the first answer. Skills in identifying and analysing problems, identifying & evaluating options, and sound decision-making skills. Ability to apply judgement to situations requiring balance between time and accuracy. Skilled communicator.  Good stakeholder management skills.
