Job Description

Are you a proactive and driven individual with a talent for opening new doors and generating opportunities? We are seeking a Sales Development Representative to join our dynamic team. In this role, with the support of sales leadership, you will be responsible for generating new leads within the Cloud Hosting and Data Centre industries, through a variety of prospecting techniques. Your primary focus will be on initiating meaningful conversations with potential clients, nurturing relationships, and qualifying leads to fuel our sales pipeline. As a key player in our sales process, you will employ personalised outreach strategies to engage with prospects and drive business growth.

The role is office-based, either at our head office in Dalbeattie or our Bellshill office, our operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The base salary for the role is £30,000 with OTE £50,000 (uncapped).

Main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Conduct comprehensive market research on the Cloud Hosting and Data Centre sectors to identify opportunities, trends, challenges and relevant industry groups for networking purposes.
  • Generate and qualify leads through networking events, online platforms, and prospecting.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers in Cloud Hosting companies and Data Centres.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Cloud Hosting Companies and Data Centres to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Analyse competitors and market dynamics to develop strategies for differentiating our offerings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a sales strategy to achieve revenue targets within the Cloud Hosting and Data Centre sectors
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline within a CRM, tracking progress and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Maintaining and growing your product knowledge through regular research.

Your skills & qualities:

  • An interest or affinity with the Tech industry.
  • Proven experience in a sales development role, with a track record of successfully opening new doors and generating opportunities within the Cloud Hosting and Data Centre sector.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
  • Proficiency in various prospecting techniques, including cold calling, email outreach, social selling, and networking.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and identify potential leads, understand their needs, and tailor outreach efforts accordingly.
  • A results-driven mindset, with the ability to meet and exceed targets and contribute to the overall success of the sales team.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage leads effectively.
  • Collaborative spirit and willingness to work closely with the sales and marketing teams to optimise lead generation strategies.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is considered advantageous.
