Salary £ 39,000 + competitive benefits package including pension, shares scheme and bonus

Working Hours

Core Shift, consisting of Monday – Thursday 0800 - 1645 & Friday 0800 – 1300

Ability to flex working hours to meet objectives and leverage available asset downtime would be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement: Actively leading continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, reliability improvements, and cost reduction. Proposing and implementing solutions to enhance the overall performance of the PLC systems. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to PLC systems, including hardware, software, and network connectivity. Performing regular maintenance tasks such as system backups, firmware upgrades, and component replacements. Process Optimization: Collaborating with engineers, operations personnel, and other stakeholders to analyse existing processes and identify areas for improvement. Developing and implementing strategies to enhance PLC systems and streamline machine data collection. System Implementation: Assisting in the development, or modifications to existing systems. This may involve creating or modifying logic programs, configuring HMI (Human Machine Interface) displays, and integrating PLCs with OPC servers and other control systems. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of PLC system configurations, modifications, and troubleshooting activities. Keeping documentation up to date, including wiring diagrams, network layouts, and equipment specifications. Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that PLC systems and related equipment adhere to safety standards and cyber security policies. Identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate safety measures to mitigate risks.

Key Skills

PLC Programming: Proficiency in programming languages used for PLCs. Understanding programming concepts, logic, and data handling within PLC systems. Familiar with Profinet, Modbus, Siemens S7, TIA Portal & Kepware Electrical and Electronic Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical and electronic principles, circuits, components, and systems. Knowledge of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and motor controls. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot PLC system issues effectively. Strong problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of malfunctions and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner .
