Job Description

  • Location:                            Birstall (WF17)
  • Working Style:                   Hybrid
  • Salary:                               £22,308 per annum
  • Contract Type:                   Permanent, Full Time
  • Core Hours:                       08:30 – 17:00, Mon to Fri

What does a day look like for you here?

You will play a pivotal role in sourcing and procuring products for sale in the business, with a variety of engaging day-to-day responsibilities. Your journey starts with researching your target market, analysing data to spot the latest trends, and building strong, positive relationships with suppliers. You'll be identifying market gaps and negotiating contracts that provide excellent value for money.

Each day, you'll source goods and services through our preferred suppliers, ensuring that all procurement activities align seamlessly with our business needs. You'll provide vital procurement support for multiple projects, keeping everything on track and meeting customer expectations. A significant part of your role involves contacting suppliers to check stock availability, negotiating prices, and agreeing on lead times, ensuring a smooth and efficient supply chain.

You'll also utilise our systems to raise purchase orders, process and expedite these orders accurately, and keep all internal documents up to date. Financial reporting will be part of your routine, ensuring transparency and accuracy. Maintaining compliant and auditable procurement documentation will be key to our success.

Collaborating with internal stakeholders and departments will be a dynamic part of your day, facilitating various procurement-related requests. You'll record essential data for contract and sales order management, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.

This role offers you a fantastic opportunity with diverse responsibilities, from market research and supplier negotiations to financial reporting and compliance maintenance, ensuring no two days are the same. You'll develop valuable skills in market analysis, relationship building, negotiation, and project management. Your work will directly impact the business's success, driving profitability and competitive advantage. You'll also have ample opportunities for collaboration and networking, leading to potential career advancements.

The team are currently meeting in our Birstall office once every two weeks and working from home the remaining days.

So, what are we looking for?

Back to that ambition of ours. We want to be the UK’s go-to managed service provider. That’s where you come in. Ideally, you will be highly organised, your keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills are your strengths, allowing you to expertly manage orders, documentation, and quality standards. Your talent for negotiation and excellent communication skills will not only secure the best deals with suppliers but also foster clear and positive interactions with all stakeholders involved.

Juggling multiple projects and tasks simultaneously will be effortless for someone as organised and proactive as you are, and your problem-solving abilities will ensure any challenges are swiftly overcome. Your can-do attitude, adaptability to change, and collaborative spirit will make you a valued asset in this dynamic environment, where customer satisfaction is paramount. And as you continue to learn and grow, staying updated on security policies, legal requirements, and industry trends, you'll find endless opportunities for personal and professional development.

You should also have:

  • Previous procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in a similar industry.
  • Skills in sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Familiarity with market research and analysis.
  • Proficiency in project and contract management.
  • Experience in financial reporting, compliance, and documentation.
  • Proficient use of procurement or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
