NHS NEL are pleased to advertise the posts of Designated Nurse for Looked after Children. The post holders will be in a key position to influence the delivery of the statutory functions in relation to this cohort of vulnerable children across north east are strategic positions that will work across the health and social care communities, acting as a professional lead and source of expertise to all members of the health and social care economies within north east London.
The scope of the post will include the development of effective multi-disciplinary and inter-agency cross boundary relationships to improve the health outcomes for looked after children.
There is an expectation that the candidate will work as part of a NEL- wide team and on occasion undertake or participate in NEL-wide projects and workstreams. The role requires a hybrid model of working by mixing an in office and remote work approach.
The banding is 8a and the posts are hrs per week x3 and 30 hrs per week x1.
Main duties of the job
In collaboration with the Designated Doctors for Looked after children and the wider Looked after children health team, the successful candidates will contribute to the development of practice aimed at improving health outcomes for Looked after Children.
Applicants must hold a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (BSc. Hon) or RSCN/RN Child qualification and be able to demonstrate expertise in the health and well-being of Looked After Children.
This is an opportunity to join a supportive and established team. The successful applicants will be encouraged to access available learning to develop and meet the role the requirements.
