Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

I have lived at Bean Leach since . There are 3 bedrooms but currently I live on my own. My support team is important to me because I need assistance to live my best life possible. I have autism and need support going out into the community to do my shopping and attend appointments. I need prompting and supporting with aspects of my personal care. My support team encourage and promote my independence where possible. I have both male and female staff there is no preference.

What is important to me

I enjoy pub lunches in the local community where I enjoy a coke zero with no ice chips and warm chocolate fudge cake with cream, attending day service on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s, going cycling on a Saturday at wheelers where I have my own tricycle which is red, bowling, discos, and walking in the local parks When I have house mates I occasionally like going out together on trips.A mixture of male and female support works well for me and good listening skills are essential.Routine is important to me and I like things a certain way so its vital that support team get to know this. I have a car so ideally I would like support staff that can drive but this is not essential as I do enjoy using public transport

Bean Leach is a 3 bedroom detached house in Offerton Stockport..There is garden space in the back which we like to use in the summer. There is a large kitchen area, dining room and a communal lounge. There is also an activity room which has a wet room attached. This is going to become a tv/activity room. One of the bedrooms has an en-suit room and there is a communal bathroom

There is adrive where parking is available

We are based in Offerton Green Stockport which is close to bus routes. There are local shops and amenities really close by and the neighbours and community are lovely.

Other information

We have a minimum of 2 colleagues on shift at a time..At night time we have a Waking night member of staff. There are additional 1:1 support hours in place for some of us.

We are looking forward to you visiting our home for cup of tea and a chat with us

Your values: We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
