Centre Of Excellence Technician

As a Centre of Excellence (CoE) Technician on a fixed-term contract until the end of 2026, you’ll support the day-to-day activities based within our Manchester factory, which supports the overall business goal by providing the highest level of support to both our food and packaging designers and projects across the business platforms. You will be based in our Manchester plant in Trafford Park; as part of our Centre of Excellence team, you will report to our CoE Co-Ordinator.
This role is essential for maintaining safe and efficient pilot plant operations by monitoring pilot-scale equipment to test and refine industrial processes, ensuring both safety and accuracy in data collection for process optimization.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Responsibility - Taking responsibility and having an active role in the team to maintain, support and develop the day to day running of a CoE facility.
- Projects - Supporting the Food and Packaging designers with projects within the CoE and plants as well as our partners around the world, ensuring they have the support needed on activities to maximise success levels, which include ordering ingredients and liaising with suppliers.
- Continuous Improvement - Managing and continuously improving raw materials and finished food controls.
- Tools and Systems - Taking ownership for maintaining and developing our control and development systems such as safety, training, food Hygiene, maintenance and 3D printing.
- Preparation - Preparing ingredients and equipment ready for project activity.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- An understanding of basic food hygiene principles and material managing is required.
- Previous factory-based experience.
- Basic computer skills required for applications such as e-mail, TEAMS, Excel, SAP
- The ability to promote collaboration and relationships across the business. Build alliance partnerships that support our functions inside and outside of the business.
