About the Role

We are recruiting a Technical Specialist in Magnetic Resonance to join our vibrant technical community for research and teaching delivery. As a key member of our team, you will develop magnetic resonance techniques and equipment to deliver an imaging service for academics, researchers, and students across our four faculties.

Main Responsibilities

Act as the MR responsible person for Manchester Metropolitan University, liaising with other local staff groups to ensure the safe scanning of research participants within the facility. Ensure Safety and Good working practice policies are in place, including record keeping of training, authorized staff, and objects within the controlled access space. Develop partnerships with external agencies and engage in collaborative research projects involving imaging. Identify and assess new research opportunities working collaboratively with the academic community to develop new scanning techniques. Method development, troubleshooting, maintenance, QC, health and safety, and administration.

Requirements

We are seeking a suitably qualified individual with experience of operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to collect high-quality images. You must have knowledge in a wide range of scanning sequences and experience of developing and adhering to health and safety procedures. Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality service are essential in succeeding in this post. The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
