Job Description
Basic Role Description: Experience, knowing a person`s capabilities lend to specific duties being added to the employment contract. 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install or assist in the installation of all aspects of equipment and services provided by client company, including IT, Telecommunications and Network Systems.
  • To carry out support work on all systems and hardware supported by client company as part of a customer’s support
  • contract.
  • To assist with recording, investigating and resolving faults when assigned to the Support Desk.
  • To assist customers in resolving faults with connected or associated equipment and/or services, and to monitor these faults to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • To attend site to investigate/resolve faults related to any of the equipment that client company supports.
  • Engineers may be requested to perform additional tasks from time to time, these tasks should be completed within the time scale advised whenever possible.
  • Document or assist in the documentation of all new installations and ensure that documentation is updated as and when modifications are implemented.
  • Update client company’s network monitoring software to include any hardware installed or replaced, to ensure the
  • continued efficient monitoring all relevant equipment.
  • Ensure that faults are properly documented and include complete contact details for both the customer and all third-party contacts as appropriate.
  • Ensure their faults are properly dealt with and closed in a timely fashion and ensure that any chargeable visits are signed off by the customer and forwarded to accounts for invoicing
  • Follow client company procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
  • Assist all client company teams in technical and operational tasks and ensuring efficient operation
  • Perform duties in a way that upholds client company Core Values and Code of Conduct at all times
  • Carry out other projects and tasks, as dictated by the client company Management Team
Training Programme
  • Full training on all technologies relevant to the role will be arranged as required.
  • Engineers are expected to keep up to date with software release notes and known faults - using release notes and technical information bulletins and manufacturer web sites. Engineers are expected to spend any free time during their working day bringing their knowledge up to date using these sources.
  • An internal training matrix will be drawn up to ensure that each engineer is adequately trained to the company’s requirements.
TRAINING Special Note
  • It is expected that engineers will undertake any pre-requisite training in their own time prior to attending an external training course.
  • A request for additional training will be looked upon favorably (if appropriate) and should be discussed with your line manager.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
  • Consistently maintain good and professional relationship with Clients, at all levels
  • Maintain proper and consistent communication and reporting on undertaken tasks and assignments
  • Anticipate IT needs of Clients and proactively propose solutions to client company Management
  • Continuously adhere to professional training and improvement of skills relevant to this employment


RequirementsYou must possess good English language skills for communication with clients, suppliers and colleagues and B2 level in the European framework is a minimum. 

Preferred Qualifications / Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in a customer focussed business such as a hotel, hospitality, IT support or similar a plus.
  • A willingness to learn is essential as extensive on-the-job training is provided
  • A willingness to use also self learning tools and online documentation for self learning
  • Strong Computer skills and/or a strong interest in IT are essential
  • Willingness to consider in the future (subject to experience and skills) out of hours cover during weekends and holidays.
  • Previous experience of Cisco, HP or similar technology use or support a real advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Certification in IT, evidence of studies or a IT related University degree
  • Customer focused – empathises with customers and is able to deliver great customer service to required standards in a professional and polite manner
  • Good listener and remains calm when dealing with problems or incidents
  • Strong verbal communication skills, able to tailor communication so that it is clear and easy to understand
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • PC literate - including a good level of knowledge of hardware and MS Windows / Microsoft Office, i.e. Print Setup and cloud working or collaboration
  • An understanding of Networks, IT and Internet technologies as a user or employee working in this area.
  • MS Excel spreadsheets, reports, data extraction a plus.
  • Any prior working knowledge of any of the following: Cisco, Dell, HP, Aruba, Meraki, Ruckus, Server and PC configurations and products an advantage.
  • An interest in any topic such as 5G, IoT, Robotics, the World Wide Web or internal knowledgebases is essential.
