Job Description

As our organisation experiences significant growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Graduate Structural Engineer to join our design team.

The role will include assisting the structural engineering team and wider design team with the assessment and development of complex structural designs on a wide range of innovative and diverse façade projects throughout the UK and Ireland.

Collaborating closely with our Senior Structural Engineer you will have the opportunity to develop and build your knowledge and skills whilst working on a variety of remarkable projects.

The Role

  • Develop detailed structural façade designs using materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and glass.

  • Undertake detailed building wind load assessments in accordance with the relevant standards.

  • Prepare calculation/technical submittals.

  • Work closely with our design, fabrication, and site teams to successfully deliver projects.

  • Assist pre-construction team in preparation of bids and proposals,

  • Liaise effectively with clients, design/project teams and other project stakeholders.

  • The role is based in our head office in Ballymena but may require occasional travel to the UK & beyond.

About The Role

Personnel Specification

Education: A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.

Preferable Experience: 1 years’ experience in a design role or similar

What you will need:

  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and façade physics.

  • Excellent mathematical, IT, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Competent with computer analysis techniques and previous exposure in CAD software.

  • An awareness of British Standards/Eurocodes/building regulations.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Commitment to continual improvement and willingness to learn and develop.

  • An interest in façade systems and technology.

  • High levels of IT skills, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
