GSL Educations Hull Branch are seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join an innovative and vibrant school in Scunthorpe, where you will have the chance to empower young learners and make a lasting impact on their educational journey

About the role:
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will support classroom learning and foster a positive educational environment by assisting the class teacher and engaging with students. Your role will involve providing individualised or small-group support to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while monitoring their progress.

Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Deliver focused assistance to students, helping them with their academic tasks and ensuring they understand lesson content.
  • Work alongside classroom teachers to plan and execute engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Observe and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and suggesting interventions where necessary.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour, fostering a respectful and orderly environment.
  • Aid in the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.

Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting children within a school setting.
  • Relevant qualifications, including Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to engaging with students, staff, and families.
  • A dedication to creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to adapt to various classroom dynamics.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
