About the role

The EHC Assessment and Review Team are seeking a part-time (3 days per week) Assistant Officer to join the team permanently. The role is complex, fast paced, varied, and rewarding, working directly with EHC Assessment and Review Officers to administrate the statutory processes for Education Health Care assessments and EHCPs. The Team works in line with all the requirements as set out in the SEND Code of Practice and our Assistants require knowledge of SEND legislation and processes.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking and highly organised with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will need to self-motivated and able to manage a busy workload to ensure statutory timescales are adhered to. You will be an excellent communicator orally and in written form with strong ICT skills. The Team works in line with all the requirements as set out in the SEND Code of Practice and our Assistants require knowledge of SEND legislation and processes.

This role will require the successful candidate to be based at 3 Knowsley Place, opposite the Town Hall and to report to the Lead Assistant EHC Assessment and Review Officer. Normal hours of work are based around the usual business working week.
