We require an Administrator to work within NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Talking Therapies, based in one of our offices in Cambridge. This is not a remote post, applicants will be expected to work from their base.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive administrative service within the team, including word processing, organise clinics and associated appointments, telephone work, maintain filing in both paper and electronic records and inputting and updating service user information.

As part of this role and if you meet the eligibility criteria there will be the opportunity to complete a Level 2, 3 or 4 Apprenticeship qualification. As part of the apprenticeship you will achieve a national recognised qualification and gain experience in administration in a health care setting. An apprenticeship is a framework of qualifications made up of an NVQ, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills in Mathematics and English. Undertaking an apprenticeship qualification is a great way to progress onto the next step on your career pathway.

Job responsibilities

Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities.

Word processing of all forms of correspondence, reports and summaries that are required by the team. Undertake diary management for clinicians and/or managers, as required. Organise clinics and associated appointments for clinics, using appropriate brought forward systems to manage work. Provide operational support to colleagues, and supervision of Band 2 administration staff within the team, if required, as directed by Line Manager. Deal with staff and service user requests that may be part of a cash office functions as and when required, and in accordance with Trust procedures.

GCSE grades A-C in Mathematics & English are required for this vacancy.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential

Educated to GCE/GCSE standard grade A - C in Maths and English Good command of written English RSA stage II/NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in a busy and demanding office/customer facing environment Experience of planning and organising own workload and of staff within own span of control

Desirable

Previous experience of working in a NHS Office environment Experience in using computer programmes including health care IT systems

Skills & Abilities

Essential

Evidence of customer care skills Evidence of IT skills (MS Office) Ability to adopt an appropriate style and method of communication and deal effectively with people. Excellent telephone manner Ability to work on own initiative
