Job summary
Ensuring that the NHS has a highly skilled workforce underpins the delivery of effective healthcare for all in Wales. HEIW has been operating, on behalf of the Welsh Government, a scheme to widen access to potential healthcare professionals by offering a bursary scheme which provides financial and means tested support for their education prior to registration. Currently 21 professions are included within the scheme.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Using advanced persuasion, communication, facilitation and negotiating skills the post holder will work in partnership with key stakeholders including Welsh Government to deliver the objectives of the current Welsh Bursary scheme.
Guided by national policy, HEIW strategic objectives and reflecting what NHS organisations need, the post holder will be expected to manage a complex, inter- related strategic programme with students, NWSSP, education providers, NHS organisations, and other relevant stakeholders across Wales. Managing relationships across stakeholders will be key and underpin the development and delivery of agreed annual project plans, assimilation of workforce data for a range of healthcare professions and provide high level reports to inform future strategic planning and monitoring of All Wales programme. In subsequent years, the relationship manager will play a key role in informing HEIW on the future of the bursary scheme or alternatives to achieve a similar strategic objective.
