Job Title: Quality Improvement Skills Training (QIST) Tutor at HEIW

Location: Ty Dysgu, Nantgarw

Pay Scale: Medical & Dental (To Be Confirmed on Appointment)

Contract: Secondment

HEIW is looking to fill a secondment post for a Quality Improvement Skills Training (QIST) Tutor within its QIST department. The organization has an ambitious Quality Improvement Skills Training Programme focused on enhancing the skills of healthcare professionals to drive quality improvement in patient care, making healthcare safer, more efficient, and equitable.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering QI training sessions and project support across various specialties and professions. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with health boards, local faculty, and Improvement Cymru to enhance QI training and development.

Main Duties of the Job:

• Deliver QI training sessions and project support for different specialties and professions
• Assist in mapping QI training to curricula and assess training needs
• Design future programs for QI training
• Liaise with stakeholders and build collaborative relationships
• Provide project mentoring and support
• Support the development of QI specialty leads
• Attend QI training updates

Qualifications and/or Knowledge:

Essential

• Membership of a Medical/Dental Royal College
• Full GMC/GDC registration
• Detailed knowledge of training curricula in medical or dental fields
• Completion of Silver IQT or equivalent

Desirable

• Completion of Improvement Advisor training or willingness to undertake

Experience:

Essential

• Supervisory experience for trainees
• Experience in QI activities
• Strong organizational skills and effective workload management
• Clinical skills to deliver QI teaching
