Job summary
BrownlowHealth have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Nurse for Women's Health. The successful candidate will join the existing team and lead thedevelopment of the LARC service for patients who are registered at the Brownlow Health practices within central Liverpool. In addition, the postholder will help to develop a Women's Health Hub in line with the nationalWomen's Health Strategy.
Thepost holder will line manage the sexual health and reproductive nursing team aswell as the care coordinator aligned to the service.
The post holder must be able to workautonomously and across the four pillars of Advanced Practice and will becompetent and confident when dealing with sexual health and contraceptionpresentations including LARCs. The post holder must be a non-medical prescriberhave completed the FSRH LoC training for subdermal implants (LoC SDI-IR) andcontraceptive coils (LoC IUT). It would be desirable to have a qualification ingynecology ultrasound. Training onclinical IT systems will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Lead thedevelopment of womens health hub (WHH) services.
Linemanage the sexual health and reproductive nursing team as well as the carecoordinator aligned to the service.
Writequarterly report on quality, statistics, achievements and opportunities of WHH.
Attendcity wide, regional and national WHH meetings and conferences.
Liaisewith public health, ICB and other PCNs in relation wo WHH.
Workingas part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Managementof patients under the care of Brownlow Health PCN and Liverpool practices forthe treatment of conditions within the practitioners scope of competence. Toprovide comprehensive sexual health information, advice, teaching and supportto patients enabling them to select and use a method of contraception suited totheir needs.
Completetelephone triage prior to patients attending for a LARC appointment.
Todeliver the assessment, insertion, and removal of subdermal implants.
Todeliver the assessment, insertion, and removal of contraceptive coils.
Performcervical cytology and assist with specialist clinics.
Extended access will form part of yourcontracted hours.
