NOV are looking to recruit a HSE Specialist (in Aberdeen) to provide HSE support across two of our existing service center facilities, based in Altens and Portlethen. These facilities service a range of Downhole Drilling Tools, Borehole Enlargement Tools and Drill Bits. The successful candidate will have responsibilities to implement and manage new HSE programmes, in addition to maintaining existing systems and processes to current standards, working closely with facility management.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILTIES:

HSE Program Implementation:
Implement and maintain HSE processes and programs in alignment with the global HSE Management System, working closely with local management. Risk Assessment and Regulatory Compliance:
Develop and review risk assessments and job safety analyses and advise on HSE regulatory compliance and industry practices. Training and Communication:
Develop HSE training programs and matrices, lead HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and management reviews, and promote safe working practices. Audits and Inspections:
Conduct facility HSE audits, participate in workplace inspections, and act as the primary contact for internal and external HSE inspections. Incident Management:
Promote near-miss reporting, record, and investigate workplace incidents, and monitor the effective and timely closeout of corrective actions. Data Monitoring and Reporting:
Collect and monitor data for ESG reporting, maintain emergency response plans, and schedule emergency drills. Report monthly on HSE key performance indicators and objectives. Procedure Development:
Document and develop facility-specific and field-specific Level III HSE procedures, business continuity plans, and maintain COSHH assessments and hazardous communication information. Waste Management:
Coordinate waste stream programs and disposal processes to maximize re-use and recycling opportunities. Contractor Management:
Manage contractor management protocols, permits, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement). Auditor / Lead Auditor qualification (preferably ISO 45001 / ISO 14001). Environmental qualification (., IEMA preferred). Demonstrated experience in effective HSE risk management and applying the hierarchy of controls.

EXPERIENCE / QUALITIES REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience in the Energy sector and/or HSE is preferred. Proficiency in IT applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Approachable demeanor with a commitment to professional and ethical conduct.
