As the Head of Technology Portfolio & Products you’ll lead all UK Insurance (UKI) Digital Technology ‘Run and Change’ activity for UKI IT. You’ll support UKI’s strategic business ambitions by ensuring effective alignment and implementation of the UKI & Digital Technology solutions and Transformation Strategy. You will help to transform & modernising the Technology organisation through Agile ways of working and driving high value IT Products and Services for whilst ensuring resilience, scale, speed, efficiency.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

Define and manage the IT portfolio strategy ensuring alignment of Bupa Technology initiatives with UK Insurance business objectives and goals.

Drive technology innovation to enhance Bupa’s Products and Services to improve performance and efficiency (i.e. via end customer and internal user experience).

Act as escalation point for the prioritisation of the (combined Run and Change) IT portfolio backlog, negotiating with UKI business, and wider IT teams where required.

Manage and lead delivery team using a blended resourcing model as appropriate.

Support the management of IT Transformation & Maintenance budgets

Help to optimise the operational performance of IT Products within UKI at both the new product stage and when upgrading existing products.

Mobilise and drive delivery of Bupa’s Digital Technology & Business Transformation agenda

Lead IT products or services through their full life cycle from inception, growth, maturity, decline to retirement.

Build strong relationships with UKI acting as the interface between the business and IT

Track, monitor and report against delivery milestones, costs, operational efficiency, and resources (i.e.. productivity, utilisation, and supply capacity with demand).

Support Head of Service to maintain IT operational KPIs and SLAs.

Build high performing team whilst modernising ways of working towards Agile practices, fostering an Agile mindset across Bupa’s UK Insurance Technology organisation. 

Lead and drive the IT risk governance framework, ensuring alignment with Bupa’s organisational risk management strategies.

Maintain a robust control environment to ensure both FCA and CQC regulatory compliance with appropriate location and apportionment of accountability.

What you’ll bring

Demonstrated experience of leading an IT Portfolio and Product function in a large complex organisation, ideally in Financial Services.

Excellent knowledge or Agile Methodologies and the ability to lead and challenge governance, tools, and techniques to ensure delivery and take stakeholders on the journey.

Strategic planning project management, and technical service knowledge coupled with commercial acumen, and the ability to align IT with business strategies.

A proven track record delivering multi-dimensional technical transformations.

Cross functional technical and business experience in a large complex corporate

Able to hold to account senior leaders who have responsibility for day-to-day decisions and implementation of initiatives.

Strong collaboration and influencing skills

Adaptability and staying current with technology trends.
