Our team shape projects that connect communities and impact daily life for millions. Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Social Impact Coordinator at Seascale, Sellafield and build new futures.
Role Purpose:
To support the delivery of Social Impact ensuring maximum impact and benefit to the communities where we operate within the PPP contract
What you'll be doing
As a Social Impact Co-ordinator , you will have the following accountabilities;
Identify and build internal and external relationships in order to foster buy-in to existing and future initiatives Support the delivery of social impact KPIs, across PPP projects. Maintain an effective social impact programme, identifying opportunities to showcase expertise, raise profiles and build trust with the local community, acting as a business contact for community groups. Collect data, report and monitor all social impact measures based on our agreed Social Impact Plan with PPP using the BB Sustainability Platform to capture value. Support and measure supply chain social impact activities Co-ordinate attendance at events/activities with education establishments and community organisations that are agreed in Social Impact Plan Coordinate charitable donations and community-based volunteering and capture volunteer hours Support the delivery of Balfour Beattys campaigns for industry wide initiatives Work with BBK Communications team to align messaging outputs effectively, manage media activity, talk positively about project successes and ensure protection of the Balfour Beatty brand
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are required:
A passion for creating meaningful social impact in the communities in which we work Good working understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Ability to collate data and evidence for reporting purposes Confident in communicating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Ability to write informative and accurate communications and case studies to strict deadlines Self-starter with the ability to manage conflicting prioritiesThe following qualities/experience are desirable:
An understanding of how organisations deliver and measure social impact Experience of working on construction/civil engineering infrastructure projects Relevant experience within the construction sector or demonstratable transferable skills from other sectors Full driving licence and a willingness to travel
