Job summary

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced TB Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) or highly experienced TB Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our dynamic nurse-led TB team based on the beautiful South Coast at University Hospitals Dorset.

We are looking for ahighly experienced TB ACP/CNS who demonstrates advanced levels of clinical competence and confidence. You will have a proven ability to work automatously and within a multi-disciplinary team in both primary and secondary care settings where you will develop, deliver and coordinate comprehensive TB services across East Dorset.

Under the supervision of the TB Consultant Nurse, you will manage the TB Service's daily operations which includes line-managing junior colleagues, triage and actioning referrals, providing nurse led outpatient and telephone clinics and performing ward as well as community outreach and home visits. You must be a confident teacher, a strong advocate and computer literate. You must have excellent communication abilities with clear spoken and written English language and ability to facilitate and chair interdisciplinary meetings at both local and regional levels. Candidates are advised to provide evidence of clinical and service development and innovation.

Base Location: Bournemouth & Poole

Main duties of the job

Clinically, you will investigate and diagnose TB, LTBI and NTM diseases; synthesising results and informationfrom multiple sources to develop highly complex plans of care. You will prescribe and supervise treatments, risk assess and deliver contact tracing and TB incident management, demonstrating high levels of competence. You will support the development of new-entrant TB screening programmes and deliver BCG vaccinations as and when needed.
