Person specification

Knowledge, skills and training

Essential criteria

Previous experience of working in mental health services

Desirable criteria

Experience of working with children and adults with additional needs and associated mental health problems / neuro-developmental conditions Experience of working with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies

Information Technology

Essential criteria

Basic IT skills, normally obtained through practice or practical training

Personal qualities / attributes

Essential criteria

Calm under pressure, and to be able to cope with difficult and personally challenging situations such as receiving personally directed abuse. Able to work effectively as part of a team. Be able to work on your own in the Emergency department or on a ward in the Acute Hospital and escalate concerns as appropriate. Ability to use own initiative

Previous experience in mental health

Essential criteria

Experience of working with complex mental health presentations including drug and alcohol, homelessness, domestic violence, complex mental health conditions. short term intervention trained - DBT, brief intervention, motivational interviewing
