Our talent and skills team partners with hundreds of London's high growth companies, collaborating to deliver talent strategies that accelerate growth.   We are a brand new, innovative team getting businesses connected to the right expertise, resources, and communities to take their team to the next level.   We work with market-leading recruiters, professional communities and networks, Universities, Further Education colleges, and cutting-edge courses and training programmes to provide a no-cost account managed service to scale-up businesses.   Purpose of Role  London & Partners is seeking passionate, resourceful and personable Senior Manager to join our new Talent & Skills team, supporting London's high-growth businesses to access the best talent from across the city. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between innovative tech companies and the diverse talent pool London has to offer, shaping the future of talent acquisition in the city.  
Key Tasks
  • Help companies to access talent faster, easier, cheaper. You will work directly with impressive founders to understand their growth ambitions and challenges, advising them on access to talent & skills support in London.  
  • Navigate the talent ecosystem: connect companies with market-leading recruiters, professional communities and networks, the most cutting edge courses and training programmes, and more.  
  • Introduce businesses to your network of Universities, FE colleges, apprenticeship schemes and other talent pipelines, focusing on overlooked talent pools and pathways. 
  • Advocate for atypical talent: continuously challenge traditional recruitment practices and champion the value of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. Create opportunities for people from all backgrounds to find their dream job.  
  • Foster successful and innovative collaborations between tech companies, educators, and training providers to develop and tailor bespoke upskilling solutions. 
  • Generate and track impact: hiring outcomes, measure programme effectiveness, identifying best practices to continuously improve the impact of your work and that of the team. 
  • Be an ambassador: advocate for London's unique talent market and its vibrant culture on the national and international stage.  


You’ll have/bring
  • An excellent communicator, able to engage credibly with founders and senior business people, articulating complex ideas and strategies. An impactful presenter.   
  • A skilled relationship builder, able to connect and build trust with individuals across different sectors and backgrounds. 
  • A flexible and resourceful problem solver with the ability to identify creative solutions to complex talent and skills challenges. A natural listener with an inquisitive attitude, keen to understand a business’s problems and work out how to help. 
  • A knowledgeable advisor, with a strong understanding of the UK's talent ecosystem and emerging trends in education and training, able to provide valuable insight to businesses from day one. You will understand the needs of different organisations and be able to guide them to best in class talent strategies.  
  • An adept researcher and strategist, able to quickly identify solutions where the answer is not immediately clear.  
  • A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, excited to unlock the potential of underrepresented groups. 
  • Data driven. Proficient in digital tools and platforms for research, communication, and project management. Keen to continuously improve and become more efficient through the use of innovative tools such as AI.  
  • A team player who works collaboratively, excited to be part of an organisation focussed on social impact and work with colleagues to make a real difference.  
 The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate:  
  • Significant experience of operationally supporting businesses to find new talent, and develop existing employees, in relevant sectors 
  • Real world understanding of the issues facing business owners, particularly but not exclusively around talent and skills 
  • Knowledge of the high-growth technology sector, and in particular the challenges facing startups and scaleups 
  • Experience of developing talent or facilitating hiring from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. First-hand knowledge of the barriers and issues facing these kinds of candidates.  
  • Ability to work independently to achieve targets as well as collaboratively with other members of the team 
  • Experience in cross-organisation working to achieve challenging goals at pace by working with different stakeholders 
  • Resilience and willingness to adapt positively to feedback  
  • Knowledge of CRMs and creative use of productivity tools to continuously improve the impact of their work
