Overview

We are looking for a Planning Manager to join our team in Elland, Leeds. Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage the planning the teams over the Marshalls network and work alongside site operations. Ensuring planning is effectively implemented and maintaining high levels of service at all times for a network of approximately 200 vehicles.

Shifts are Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 16:00 or 09:00 to 17:00 – No Bank Holidays and Christmas shutdown


How will you contribute?

Manging the day-to-day planning of the Marshalls fleets in line with forecasted volumes and lead times to ensure the delivery of the customer proposition in the most cost-efficient manner. Managing the Planning Team and being responsible for escalations, express orders, administering claims on behalf of the network. Responsibility for the central planning budget. Developing and presenting business performance reports, trend analysis and insight to fleet efficiencies, utilisation and conformance to the plan, to the customer and the Operational. Continuous improvement mindset to identify and highlight any areas of opportunity to reduce fleet and costs and improve service. Lead the transport operations on capacity vs requirements, leading discussions with the leadership team on tactics to address impacts, opportunities, issues & challenges.

What will you bring?

Previous experience within a similar role and transport. Knowledge of the Construction industry would be advantageous. Proactive with a can-do attitude and agile mind-set, with the ability to form strong working relationships with all levels of the organisation. Comfortable working on your own initiative in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic environment with significant change, ambiguity and adapting to evolving requirements Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written, oral, listening and presentational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and influence at all levels .
