An Opportunity has arisen within Cancer Services department for a motivated and dedicated Cancer Pathway Co-ordinator

Job purpose is to provide support in coordinating MDT Meetings and monitoring the Cancer Pathway. Ensuring that all cancer patients referred via the 2WW route are treated within national cancer waiting times targets to ensure delivery of subsequent standards (if appropriate).

You will be responsible for providing waiting times and cancer outcomes data, monitoring and data collection You will also be responsible for a weekly MDT meeting, of which you will prepare facilitate and record outcomes of each patient discussion via the Infoflex cancer database in a live environment.

This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met. They will have the flexibility to respond to requests from specialties, and will be able to work under their own initiative. Applicants should also have excellent organisational and communications skills, be able to work under pressure whilst ensuring all deadlines are achieved.

Main duties of the job

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate you have significant experience in managing patient pathways. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within a team based environment.

A highly visible presence in the department is expected ensuring a responsive and proactive service to patients and staff

Qualifications

Essential

NVQ Level 3 or above Business Administration or Equivalent, or willing to work towards Demonstrable high level of numeracy and literacy in Maths and English Grade C

Knowledge

Essential

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening) with proven experience of dealing with a wide and complex range of stakeholders and matters. Demonstrate a sound understanding of the national cancer performance targets

Desirable

Knowledge and understanding of the NHS in wider context.
