Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a proactive and enthusiastic analyst to join the Trust's busy Business Insight Team, coordinating the provision of insight and analysis.

This is an exciting time to work in Information Services within Sherwood Forest Hospitals, who are embarking on a major programme of transformation with the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR). This will enable them to exploit the transformation opportunities brought with digitisation, ensuring an excellent level of care and safety for all patients. It will also ensure that divisions are able to maximise their available resources.

This team leader role within the insight workstream of Information Services will coordinate the provision of insight and analysis, supporting the Trust in the delivery of timely, high-quality patient care.

This role can be considered on hybrid working basis with a mix of remote working and working on site as and when needed following an initial period of training. Flexible working hours will also be considered wherever possible.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the department's provision of insight and analysis. This will involve working closely with services across the Trust and ensuring that the information needed to plan and deliver excellent patient care care is met with high quality data. The post holder will have an in-depth specialist knowledge of NHS information flows and performance indicators. They will play a key role in supporting operational managers to understand patient flow within the Trust.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the departments provision of insight and analysis specifically around elective care.

They will be able to set up reporting mechanisms to provide clear concise reports that meet the requirements of the service. They will be able to use the most appropriate method Excel, Power BI.

They will track performance against strategic aims and operational plans. They will investigate highly complex and potentially sensitive issues providing specialised assistance and advice as required to support decision making.

They will be skilled in producing documentation to a professional high standard and to tight deadlines, will show initiative and self-motivation and will have excellent interpersonal skills, given the need to pro-actively support senior managers and clinicians through their analytical skills and knowledge of NHS information, performance, and planning frameworks.

The post holder will be educated to degree level with evidence of continuing professional development in the field of Business Intelligence and Analysis.
