About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Water Quality Risk Coordinator to join our busy Water Quality team in the Essex & Suffolk Water region. As a key member of the team the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our water quality risk data base. This will be achieved through identification of emerging risks or hazards, risk assessment and data interpretation, and agreement of improvement plans with Water Supply, Water Resources, Water Networks and Service Planning

The successful candidate will also be required to disseminate new legislation, produce clear and concise reports to NWG and the Drinking Water Inspectorate, and be willing to challenge in order to achieve the right water quality outcome.

You’ll also have ownership of the risk database and work with I.S. to ensure the system is optimised and is developed in line with internal and regulatory expectations. 

About you

You’ll will be a good self-motivator, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The role will involve working across many sites in both the Northumbrian and Essex & Suffolk regions, so a willingness to travel is essential.

We’re looking for the successful candidate to be creative and decisive, and have the ability to work accurately to deadlines. You’ll have effective inter-personal skills and be capable of consulting with a range of internal stakeholders and external regulators. You will be IT literate and have some knowledge of water supply systems.

You must hold a full driving licence and be educated to science degree level.

Interviews will take place in person week commencing 30th September 2024.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
