Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Migration Execution: Lead the end-to-end execution of the data migration process from legacy systems to Dynamics 365, following the pre-defined architecture and migration strategy.
  • Data Assessment: Analyse existing data structures, understand the complexities of the legacy systems, and identify potential issues with data integrity, replications, inconsistencies, and redundancies.
  • Data Cleansing: Perform data cleansing to eliminate irrelevant, obsolete, or redundant information, and ensure the data is accurate, complete, and consistent.
  • Data Transformation: Map and transform data from legacy formats to Dynamics 365 data models, ensuring alignment with the new system’s requirements.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous data migration testing, including validation of data accuracy, integrity, and performance in the new environment. Work closely with business users to validate the migrated data.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues that arise during the migration process. Implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the migration process, including data mapping, transformation rules, and any customisations applied.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the project team, including developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders, to ensure smooth execution of the migration process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and suggestions for improving data migration processes and tools, based on lessons learned during the project.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proven experience with data migration projects, particularly with large-scale and complex data sets.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and familiarity with its data structures.
    • Proficiency in data migration tools and technologies (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, KingswaySoft, Scribe).
    • Knowledge of legacy systems and the challenges associated with migrating from highly customised environments.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to navigate and resolve challenges posed by old and heavily customised systems, ensuring data integrity and successful migration.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data quality, ensuring that all data is accurately migrated and validated.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data migration projects, with a focus on Dynamics 365.
  • Experience working with legacy systems that involve significant customisations and workarounds.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing data migrations to new business applications.
