Job Description

Ward Manager - Mental Health Nurse

Salary: Up to £55,000

As a Ward Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged up to the age of 18, providing leadership to the nursing staff, and ensuring the provision of high-quality care to patients with mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.

Qualifications
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification and valid UK NMC registration.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role within a mental health setting, preferably in the care and treatment of young people
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively under pressure

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses, healthcare assistants, and support staff to ensure the delivery of person-centered care to young patients.
  • Coordinate and supervise the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans for young people with mental illness.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of clinical practice and support professional development of the nursing team in the care of young people
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that young patients receive holistic and individualized care.
  • Uphold compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures for the care and treatment of young people
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, diversity, and equality within the ward for the care and treatment of patients
