Position: Full-Time Behavioural Specialist
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £85-£100 Daily

The alternative provisionare dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for children who may have experienced trauma and also special educational needs.  They believe in the power of resilience and the importance of creating a nurturing space where every child can thrive. The team is committed to helping children feel safe, comfortable, and understood as they navigate their educational journey.

Role and Responsibilities: As a Behavioural Specialist, you will:

  • Work full-time to support children who have faced trauma, providing them with the care and understanding they need.
  • Implement effective strategies to de-escalate any situations that may arise, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  • Develop strong, trustworthy bonds with students to help them feel secure and supported.
  • Set positive examples for students, fostering a culture of respect and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualized support plans for each child.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, adjusting strategies as necessary to support their growth.
  • Guide children in a compassionate manner, helping them understand and cope with the effects of trauma.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience working with children who have experienced trauma, preferably in an educational or therapeutic setting.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour management techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support and guide children.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience with children with special educational needs (SEN) or a keen interest in working with SEN children is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
