We are recruiting in repairs for a Communal Repairs Technical Officer who will help diagnose and identify the necessary repairs across the housing stock, in order to provide high levels of customer satisfaction and negate potential risks given the current litigation culture in the social housing sector.

Band 4

£38, - £42, - Please note that these are the correct pay scales following the recent pay award

Full time - 40 Hours Per Week which can include evening and weekend meetings.

We are a groundbreaking, innovative housing partnership working as a not for profit organisation in the Borough of Sutton with ambitious objectives for making Sutton a great place to live. Formed in April as an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) we work in partnership with Sutton Council and its residents, managing over 6, council properties and over 1, leasehold properties in Sutton. Although the housing stock is owned by the London Borough of Sutton, day to day management, maintenance and asset investment is the responsibility of SHP. In the last two years we have insourced the repairs service, grass cutting service, started an large scale transformation programme the SHP New Deal for both residents and colleagues, have achieved Customer Service Excellence & Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation, delivered an Energiesprong retrofit programme, and will be delivering our new asset investment programme based on the best stock condition survey data in the sector, along with much more. Sutton’s population is growing and the need to deliver a supply of affordable homes has never been greater. There is a significant pressure on existing housing stock and for this reason, Sutton Council are looking to deliver a number of new homes to meet demand in partnership with SHP and Sutton Living Limited, a local authority trading company. The right candidate will have:

Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity. Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets Working knowledge of building construction, best practice and Regulations Working knowledge of current forms of building contract and implementation Working knowledge of Section 20 Legislation and consultation Technical expertise sufficient to understand complex issues in construction, engineering and maintenance in the delivery of repairs and projects Understand the provisions of the Construction Design Management Regulations and ensure that the internal and external CDM resources are managed. Understanding and experience of leasehold service charging including consultation requirements for qualifying works (S20). An understanding of the Housing, Health & Safety Rating Guidance (HHSRS Guidance for landlord and property related professionals) and practical knowledge of how to assess hazards.

Full Driving Licence is essential.
