Our client, a leading company in the sector, is seeking a dedicated Freight Forwarder to organise the safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of goods from start to finish. This role encompasses a full range of services, including documentation, insurance, and customs formalities, making it a crucial part of their operations.

Key Responsibilities 

- Investigate and plan the most appropriate routes for shipments, considering the nature of the goods, costs, transit times, and security.

- Arrange on-carriage of goods using various transportation options, including air, sea, road, and rail for both imports and exports.

- Negotiate rates for transportation, shipping, and handling costs, providing clients with competitive quotes.

- Organise and maintain all relevant documentation to ensure compliance and smooth operations.

- Ensure visibility and control by maintaining excellent communication with clients and suppliers, addressing issues, resolving complaints, and arranging deliveries.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and both internal and external customers.

Key Criteria: 

- A solid working knowledge of the logistics industry is essential.

- Strong numeracy and logical problem-solving abilities are crucial.

- Previous experience in a similar role is required.

- Must be motivated, resourceful, and capable of organising their own workload while balancing competing demands.
