**Main Purpose**
As an Import-Export Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our commitment to compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.

This is a hands-on role with primary responsibility to oversee and manage import-export activities while ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs, ultimately contributing to the efficient and secure movement of goods across borders.

**Responsibilities**
- Utilise your Import-Export background to ensure that the GDHV UK and Island of Ireland sites comply with the relevant Import-Export regulations.
- Oversight of the preparation, submission and review of import-export documentation including customs declarations, licenses, permits, and shipping records, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Sample check declarations submitted by our customs agents to ensure their accuracy and compliance with the relevant regulations. Liaise with customs agents, Group Tax and if required customs authorities to resolve any non-compliance issues identified.
- Submission of TSS declarations for the movement of goods from the UK into Northern Ireland.
- Implement appropriate procedures and sign-off to ensure the accuracy of relevant master-data, including, commodity codes, preferential country of origin, weights, etc.
- Sample check the accuracy of the master-data and liaise with the relevant functional teams and Group Tax (as required) to ensure that master-data errors are promptly correctly and assess the impact on previously submitted declarations, taking correction action as required.
- Prepare and maintain certification of Preferential Country of Origin (COO) required for export markets. Liaise with key stakeholders where Preferential COO cannot be certified, the irrecoverable duty cost implications for export customers can be significant.
- Conduct risk assessments on import-export operations, identifying potential compliance issues and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
- Identify, and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Review compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations, reporting any non-compliance and recommending corrective actions.
- Stay up to date with the latest import-export regulations, tariffs, sanctions, and trade agreements relevant to our industry and geographic regions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees and stakeholders on import-export compliance matters and best practices.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Proven hands-on experience in import-export compliance, customs regulations, and international trade.
- Knowledge of rules of origin, preferential and non-preferential.
- Experience of CDS and TSS systems and ideally AIS (Republic of Ireland).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
