This role reports to Commercial Agency Director


Overview of job

The Head of Agency will be responsible for leading the agency team on all things audio. Fully responsible for revenue across Radio and expected to also drive revenue into DAX, partnerships and OOH.

The Head of Agency and their teams will be responsible for proactive revenue generation and client servicing across all agencies within their group. The Head of Agency will nurture business relationships with senior personnel - business director and above with a specific focus on influencing the client leads & planning community. Nurturing and developing talent within the team, leading on recruitment and training needs across the team.

In the first few months, you would have

Built an agency facing team with clear roles and responsibilities.

Worked with the CAD and your peers to agree key measures of success for the business units for the remainder of the financial year. 

Supported all individuals in the transition and ensure a supportive and open team culture.

Worked closely with respective head of agency in outdoor, head of DAX regional sales, head of partnerships and head of business development to ensure levels of co-operation and communication remain positive.

Build new team processes (i.e., key internal meetings, management of revenue targets and development of culture)

Set out and fulfilled a contact plan of key agency stakeholders.

Help to motivate the teams in a difficult economy and support the commercial director in key department initiatives to build a positive Global culture.

Presented on the agenda as required

Responsibilities of the role

Lead and develop a high-performing audio agency team.

Work effectively with all Global commercial department leaders to successfully plan and implement a strategy to drive overall revenue growth for your agency group.

Understand the key challenges and issues our customers face and ensure that your team are helping to provide solutions to these challenges to ensure we are perceived as a key partner to our customers.

Lead your team to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day business.

Work closely with the audio trading team to ensure accurate forecasting and knowledge of the deal within the team is appropriate.

Develop influential relationships with senior stakeholders across your agency customer group with a specific focus on business directors and the planning community.

Lead the team to successfully develop and retain business across our radio brands.

To be a Global ambassador and an architect in the shaping of the Global commercial culture

Work closely with the head of’s and group strategy director on joint agency initiatives and ways of working.

What you will need
 

Experience

5+ years’ experience leading a high performing media sales teams

A strong understanding of Radio and Digital media planning and buying.

A strong understanding of agencies and senior relationships across all planning teams

Proven track record in nurturing agency and client relationships

A reasonable understanding of Outdoor Media

Qualifications

No formal qualifications required.

Soft skills

Excellent time management and personal organisation

Clear communication to a wide variety of role types including to customers.

Excellent teamwork

Ability to motivate a team of individuals with integrity and with compassion for team challenges.

Technical skills

Ability to use Keynote, PowerPoint, Excel,

Good understanding of the application of industry measurement tools - Rajar.

Good understanding of Global’s proprietary audience targeting and measurement tools such as Listener Insight ID and the DAX data management platform.
