This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team in a senior clinical position as Matron within our Community and Rehab care group.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and passionate individual with proven leadership experience who has the energy to support and coach staff to ensure best practice across services. You will be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships. You will lead by example, motivate, and empower the team as well as be passionate about staff well-being.
The Role would be part of the team that covers Medicine for Older People, Community Hospitals and Florence Nightingale Hospice.
Candidates must be able to travel between sites 

Main duties of the job

To provide senior clinical leadership by being creative with both human and physical resources;hastheabilitytolookatnewwaysofworking,highlightingnewpossibilities and can influence others having the ability to see and understand situations from various perspectives

Tomanagespecialistnursesasappropriatetotheirown areas

The post holder needs to be able to respect other feelings and can be responsive to bothindividualsandorganisationalneedshavingtheabilitytobesupportiveofothers particularly when experiencing change management.

The post holder will need to provide specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in their related field. They will be a driver of qualitative, innovative, productive, safe evidencebasednursingcarewhichpromotesbestpracticeandbestoutcomesfor patients.

Outcomeswillbebasedondirectandindirectpatientfeedback,auditsbothinternal and external, peer reviews, matron’s rounds and corporate quality targets for both patients and staff.

Theroleisonethatis50%clinicaland50%managerial.Thepostholderwillprovide a positive visible role model; influencing best practice from the clinical base; challenging, encouraging, coaching and mentoring appraisal needs of staff as they become apparent.

Person specification

Education, Qualification and Training

Essential criteria

RN or AHP Degree in related field (or equivalent experience) Completion of appropriate management and leadership programme Teaching and Assessment recognised qualification

Desirable criteria

Working towards a Masters in related subject or willing to complete

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant experience at a senior nurse level within related field Proven track record in change management, team leadership , performance management

Desirable criteria

Previous experience to teaching, lecturing large audiences

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

Essential criteria

Excellent Communication and interpersonal Skills Ability to demonstrate appropriate non antagonistic behaviour in stressful situations Evidence of participation in audit, research, and development of staff Proven track record when dealing with human resource issues.

Desirable criteria

Proven ability to analyse highly complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them
