Job summary

Toprovide specified Adult Audiology investigations to Company clientsand patients in line with the Companys quality procedures and Good ClinicalPractice.

Therole requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. There is a needfor a high standard of literacy and numeracy within the work and the postholder must be appropriately qualified and be registered with the HCPC/BAA. Dueto the nature of the work, and in the interests of patient care, there is aneed for absolute accuracy at all times as well as adherence to the Companysrigorous quality procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Main duties of the job

1. Working to theCompanys Standard Operating Procedures at all times as contained in the SOP file

2. Line management andtraining of audiology department staff

3. Patient management andpreparation for procedures

4. Performance of PureTone Audiometry.

5. Performance of BoneConduction Audiometry.

6. Performance ofTympanometry and Acoustic Reflex.

7. Undertaking ear mouldimpressions.

8. Undertaking hearing aidand mould fittings.

9. Ensuring a highstandard of patient/client care including the cleanliness and stocking ofclinical areas

10. Use of the patientmanagement system

11. Creation of proceduralalgorithms and draft procedural guidelines

12. Maintain and updateprofessional knowledge including new procedures and techniques

13. Log into Auditbase asan administrator for maintenance and housekeeping (Therefore a strong workingknowledge of Auditbase / Auricle and Auditbase administration would be a strongadvantage)

14. Audiology stockordering ensuring correct levels are maintained and stock inventory correct.

15. Development of theAudiology Services with an aim to increase the amount of patients seen/servicesprovided with a view to launching a private aid service as well as expandinginto paediatric audiology.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Minimum BSc Audiology or equivalent Registered clinical physiologist or State Registered Clinical Scientist BAA accredited Certificate to Practice (eg BAAT part I and II, Yr 3 BSc, CAC, HCC, PTP, STP ) HCPC Registered Evidence of training in specialist area

Desirable

MSc in Audiology/ M level credits in general audiology/specialist areas British Sign language qualification

Experience

Essential

Basic audiology training Minimum of post BSc clinical experience Experience with complex adult and paediatric patients Experience of communicating effectively

Desirable

Experience of training others Experience of service development and audit Specialist Paediatric testing VRA, ERA, knowledge of NHSP working
