SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: New Ash Green, Kent

Salary: £83 per day

Start Date: Immediate start

Contract Type: Full time, 5 days a week (8.30 - 3.30)

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assist the class teacher in managing the learning environment
  • Support students with their emotional and behavioural needs
  • Adapt learning materials to suit the needs of individual pupils
  • Encourage social interaction and engagement during lessons
  • Help with personal care tasks when required
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to create a supportive learning atmosphere

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Passion for working with children and a desire to make a difference in their lives.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional needs of children with autism.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
