We're seeking a pro-active, passionate, and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our youth autism diagnostic service where you will gain a wealth of knowledge and skills from out clinical team.

We appreciate that as part of developing the skills and experience required to take the next steps to clinical training, our Assistant Psychologists value a range of experiences.

Main duties of the job

Conducting assessments, , direct observations, specialist psychometric testing, to inform formulation and treatment planning. Undertaking objective observations within educational settings. Supporting the development and delivery of workshops and training packages for individuals, carers, and colleagues. Participate in and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings Writing appropriate reports and supporting team formulation activities Audit, research, service evaluation, and project activities.

Qualifications

Essential

A BPS accredited degree in Psychology.

Experience

Essential

Experience of quantitative research.

Desirable

Experience of research in the NHS.

Skills

Essential

Skills using microcomputers for databases or date analysis, especially SPSS for Windows.

Desirable

Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients and colleagues.

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of mental health An understanding of psychology applied to health care.

Desirable

An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems or other disabilities. An ability to apply existing knowledge to a mental health context.
