The Role

Residents in Wood Farm are more likely to have worse health outcomes than those from more prosperous areas of the city and we don’t think that’s fair. That’s why we’re hiring a Community Health Development Officers to work in these areas to help reduce the health inequalities these residents face.

Working with the wider local systems to join the dots and provide a more holistic approach to address the root cause and improve access to community-based solutions. Each area has a specific focus according to its communities needs with Locality Managers aiming to provide a more joined up service to our citizens including more effective collaboration with our statutory and third sector partners and community organisations.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be empathetic, enjoy meeting new people and having a cracking sense of humour will also help We are looking for people who know the locality of Wood Farm from living and/or working in the area. You will need to be a strong communicator; able to engage with a diverse range of people around sometimes difficult matters. You should have knowledge of the issues that affect more deprived communities and experience of building confidence and skills in local people and groups to make positive change happen for themselves. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.
