Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Greenwich
Salary Range: £95 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

If so, GSL Education are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a primary schoolin Greenwich. This meaningful opportunity allows you to make a real impact by supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them flourish academically, grow personally, and shine brightly in their future endeavours.

About the role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with primary-aged students with a variety of needs, fostering their development and ensuring they have the best possible learning experience.

Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, both in small groups and one-on-one settings.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting lessons to meet students’ unique needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, promoting confidence and independence.
  • Support the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and behaviour management.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Encourage social integration and emotional well-being through supportive interaction.

Requirements of the SEND Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEND students.
  • Strong understanding of SEND strategies, including Autism, ADHD, or Speech and Language needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and adaptable in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.

To work with GSL Education as a SEND Teaching Assistant (TA), you need:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
