Job responsibilities

Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients To share with colleagues responsibility for day-to-day management of Respiratory & General Medicine services with a commitment to the acute medical 1 in 11 on call rota Teaching and training of junior staff To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit

To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME)

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

MBBS or equivalent. Completion of a minimum of 12 years' medical work since obtaining primary medical qualification. Membership with the relevant Royal College for the speciality or equivalent. GMC Registration and license to practice.

Experience & Skills

Essential

Should have completed a recognised training programme in General and Respiratory medicine. Must be able to demonstrate a Hight level of clinical experience and competence in Respiratory Medicine. Knowledge of current trends in speciality. IT skills.

Teaching

Essential

Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, post-graduates and junior medical staff.

Audit & Research

Essential

Evidence of participation in clinical audit relevant to specialty.

Motivation

Essential

Commitment to the development of a high quality cost effective service to.
