An opportunity has arisen at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS trust for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is ready to further develop and consolidate their knowledge and skills within the Pelvic Health Speciality.
You will have the opportunity to treat patients from uro-gynaecology as well as urology, colorectal, psychosexual medicine and pelvic pain clinics for both men and women.
The Pelvic Health physiotherapy team works alongside the expert MSK Physiotherapy and MCATTS team's; working together with patient care, in-service training, research and service development. The service currently has a B8 Clinical Specialist, x3 B7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapists, x 2 Static Band 6, Rotational Band 6, Rotational Band 5 and a Static Band 4. There is a well-structured inpatient service for postnatal and antenatal care, as well as gynaecology benign and oncology care. The outpatient service is mixed across pelvic health and involves both outpatient clinics and patient information classes and exercise classes.
You will be currently working at Band 7 level or have a broad range of Band 6 experience (or equivalent) in Pelvic Health and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy. You will be responsible for assisting the Clinical Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in the daily operational management of this speciality and, supervising and appraising Band 4- 6 staff.

Main duties of the job
The physiotherapy Department is within the Therapies Clinical Directorate along with Speech and Language therapy, Occupational Therapy, Foot Health and Patient Appliances, Spiritual Care, Psychology and Social Work support.
The department has over 300 staff and provides services across the Trust. The Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team provides inpatient and outpatient services at St Thomas' and Guy's sites, as well as outreaching into Lambeth community centres.

Job responsibilities
Responsible for the operational management of the Pelvic Health physiotherapy service in conjunction with the Clinical Specialist in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy.
Uses expert clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the physiotherapy team and other medical staff, whilst maintaining a clinical caseload of highly complex patients.
Professional and clinical leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive training and personal development plan for all Pelvic Health physiotherapy staff and in conjunction with the management team strives to ensure excellence of training across the whole organisation.

Degree in Physiotherapy Post graduate qualification in Pelvic Health physiotherapy or working towards Evidence of Continued Professional/ Development at 'M' level including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to Pelvic Health Physiotherapy HPC Registration

Membership of Special Interest Group MSc Formal Management Training
Previous experience
Essential
Significant Band 6 level experience of working in Pelvic Health physiotherapy in both inpatient and outpatient environments, including management of complex obstetric and pelvic floor conditions Previous experience of student supervision and clinical education

Experience in leading service development Previous experience of formal presentations to multi professional groups Experience of research methodology Lone working experience Experiencing in appraising staff
