PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As part of AG's market leading Restructuring Group, you will work alongside an international team of restructuring specialists, spanning the fields of financial restructuring, non-contentious insolvency and insolvency related disputes. You will focus on advising lenders and borrowers in a variety of innovative finance transactions, including advising on multi-jurisdictional venture and growth debt transactions in the tech and life sciences sector as well as guiding stakeholders through financial difficulty, implementing cutting-edge cross-border special situations and restructuring transactions.

Our Restructuring team has enviable positions on all the major bank panels and benefits from excellent relationships with the restructuring and insolvency specialists at the market's leading accountancy firms and agents. With established Restructuring teams across the UK, the national team has 14 Partners and more than 45 specialist restructuring and insolvency lawyers. This dedicated resource (which few of our competitors can genuinely match) offers a full service across the entire spectrum of restructuring and insolvency assignments - in a broad range of sectors.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:

The successful candidate will principally work directly with a new partner on the most innovative financing transactions acting for market leading clients investing in the most exciting cutting edge high growth companies. To the extent a distressed position arises, the candidate will also assist in advising on restructuring and working-out such financings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious lawyer with 2-4 years post qualification experience in the banking and finance or restructuring team of a top-tier law firm to assist in building out this financial solutions aspect to the Restructuring practice. The successful candidate should ideally have at least two years post qualification experience in: Advising in relation to debt transactions (acting for financial institutions would be preferrable) Advising on out of court restructuring and work-out transactions including, amend and extends, emergency funding and consensual debt for equity swaps; Providing advice in relation to other restructuring tools and procedures including the use of insolvency processes, schemes of arrangements and/or restructuring plans; and Analysing the capital structure of organisations and providing strategic investment advice to financial institutions with respect to the implementation of their investment strategy.
