Hours: Part-time hours, working 5 days in summer and 2 or 3 days in winter (1521 hours per year).

Salary: £11.88 per hour.

Duration: Permanent contracts.

Interview dates: 17th, 24th and 25th June at Croft Castle, and 18th, 19th and 26th June at Berrington Hall.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, we have one role based at Croft Castle(Yarpole, Leominster, HR6 9PW) and one role based at Berrington Hall (near Leominster, Herefordshire, HR6 0DW).

Croft Castle is an ancient place situated on the English-Welsh border. Steeped in British history with a picturesque castle and medieval parkland, Croft welcomes over 100,000 visitors a year. As well as the castle and gardens, Croft also has a church, second-hand bookshop and the Carpenter's tea-room.

Berrington Hall is a Neo-Classical mansion built in the late 18th Century. In recent years the property has built a reputation for the display of contemporary art projects, both inside the mansion and on the wider property. As well as the mansion and gardens, there is a second-hand bookshop and the Old Servant's Hall tea-room.

You'll plate food and help with portion control and quality check to ensure everything we serve is to a high standard. Using the framework of our ‘National Trust Cookbook’, you’ll prepare, measure and mix ingredients. You’ll help with deliveries and with keeping the kitchen clean, to be compliant with health and safety legislation and to make sure that service runs smoothly. We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.  Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.
