Job Description: Cook at The King's Head, a Family-Run Pub in Docklow
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team at The King's Head, a welcoming family-run pub located in Docklow. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests receive exceptional dining experiences through the preparation of delicious food, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and keeping our stock up to date. The rates of pay will be determined based on your level of experience, and full training will be provided.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation are consistently excellent.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards to guarantee the freshness, cleanliness, and safety of the prepared food.
- Adapt dishes as necessary to meet specific dietary requirements or customer preferences.
2. Order Processing and Presentation:
- Receive and manage food orders efficiently, ensuring prompt service and timely delivery of meals to customers.
- Plate and garnish dishes creatively, paying attention to detail to enhance visual appeal.
- Maintain consistency in portion sizes and presentation to uphold our pub's standards.
3. Kitchen Organization and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, including proper storage and handling of ingredients, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and tools are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Monitor and record food temperatures to comply with health and safety regulations.
4. Stock Management:
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and reporting stock shortages or overages to the management team.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, verifying their quality and accuracy.
- Rotate food stock to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
**Requirements**:
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality standards.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Average week is 37.5 hours but more hours are available
